Ray V. Reffitt, 84, of Pierceton, died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022, at home.

He was born in Risner, Ky., on May 8, 1938, the son of the late Jimmy and Lishie Ousley Reffitt. Ray graduated from High School in Martin, Ky., but lived the majority of his life in Kosciusko County. He retired as a machinist at DePuy in 2003 after 30 years with the company. Ray loved the time he spent with his family and friends; he enjoyed cooking and especially liked backyard cookouts.

Ray is survived by his spouse, Ralph Rigby, of Pierceton; son, Kevin Reffitt, of Prestonsburg Ky.; sister, Juanita (Paul) Bradford, of Silver Lake; grandchildren: Michelle (Richard) Burt, of Fort Wayne; Alena Reffitt, of Columbia City; Jonna (John) Michel, of North Manchester; and Joey Oliver, Jennifer Fulton and Brett Reffitt, all of Warsaw; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, Ray was also preceded in death by a son, Keith Reffitt; daughter, Jeannene Oliver; sister, Marie Baldridge; and brothers, Corbin Reffitt and Tommy Reffitt.

Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 105 S. First St., Pierceton. Visitation is Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial in Hillcrest Cemetery.
