Manchester/Tippecanoe Valley/Whitko at Warsaw Invitational
WARSAW – It was a clean sweep for the Warsaw boys and girls cross country teams at the Tiger Invitational Tuesday, as both teams captured first place honors. Manchester finished in fifth place on both the boys and girls side. Tippecanoe Valley finished in sixth on the girls side, but both the Vikings and Whitko did not have enough athletes to place on the boy side.
Joey Rastrelli was atop the medal stand once again with a time of 19:20, 39 seconds faster than the second place finisher. On the boys side, the Tigers had four top 10 finishers, led by senior Garrett Hall in fifth place. Seventeen Warsaw athletes set personal bests.
Volleyball
Winamac at Tippecanoe Valley
AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley volleyball improved back to .500 after a clean sweep victory over Winamac Tuesday. The Lady Vikings won 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-17) to move their record to 2-2 this fall.
MacKaylie Costello had seven aces as well as six kills. Avery Wagoner had 24 assists to lead the team. Next up for Tippy Valley is a matchup with Whitko Thursday.
Central Noble at Wawasee
SYRACUSE – Wawasee won its second straight game Tuesday, defeating Central Noble 3-0 (25-8, 25-15, 26-24) to improve to 3-1 this season. Wawasee will look to make it three in a row Thursday at Bethany Christian.
Bremen at Triton
BOURBON – Triton volleyball extended its winning streak to three Tuesday after a straight set victory over Bremen. The Trojans won 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-19) to improve its record to 4-1.
Addyson Viers led the team in kills with 15 as well as blocks with 4. She also added two aces. Hannah Snyder had 15 assists. Triton takes on Argos Thursday in its next matchup.
Churubusco at Whitko
SOUTH WHITLEY – Whitko is still undefeated this fall after another victory Tuesday. The Lady ‘Cats defeated Churubusco 3-1 to improve to 3-0 this season. Whitko takes on Tippecanoe Valley at home Thursday.
Lakeland Christian at Jimtown
ELKART – Lakeland Christian is still searching for its first win of the season after a 3-0 (12-25, 16-25, 16-25) defeat at the hands of Jimtown Tuesday. The Cougars are now 0-6 and play their next game Thursday against MCAC.
Boys Soccer
Wabash at Tippecanoe Valley
AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley opened up Three Rivers Conference play on the wrong side of a close game, losing 3-2 to Wabash. The Vikings are now 2-1 this season, 0-1 in the TRC. Tippy Valley has a non-conference home game against Caston Thursday.
Lakeland Christian at Lakewood Park
AUBURN – Lakeland Christian was unable to pick up a victory on the road Tuesday, falling 4-2 at Lakewood Park. The Cougars are now 0-3 this season.
Jashawn Zielasko started off the scoring for LCA in the fifth minute, and also got an assist on a goal by Noah Higham in the second half. Despite outshooting their opponent by eight, the Cougars were met by a stone handed keeper.
Lakeland Christian takes on North Miami Saturday.
Girls Soccer
Warsaw at Plymouth –Warsaw opened up Northern Lakes Conference play with a road victory Tuesday, beating Plymouth 5-0. The Tigers are now 2-2 this season, 1-0 in the NLC.
Zoe Bergan opened up the scoring with 14 minutes left in the first half, scoring on a free kick. Lola Pepper scored two goals in the second half as the floodgates opened for the Warsaw offense. The Tigers are back in action Thursday when the team hosts NorthWood.
Girls Golf
Warsaw/Wawasee at Concord
ELKHART – Warsaw girls golf had to settle for a split at their three-way conference meet Tuesday. Tied at 200 with Concord, the fifth player score broke the tie and won the match for Concord. Wawasee finished in third place with a 235.
Abbey Peterson led the way for Warsaw with a 41. The Tigers were without Olivia Robinson-Gay. Wawasee hosts Plymouth Thursday while Warsaw hosts Northridge and Plymouth Tuesday.

Wabash at Tippecanoe Valley
AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley picked up a conference win over Wabash Tuesday, winning its match 3-2. No. 1 and No. 2 singles players Dylan Neese and Cameron Manuel both picked up wins for the Vikings. Tippy Valley plays its next match Thursday at Columbia City.
