Boys Tennis

Churubusco at Manchester

NORTH MANCHESTER – Manchester boys tennis earned a clean sweep victory over Churubusco Monday night, winning 5-0 at home.

No. 2 singles player Josh Steely was practically perfect in his match, winning 6-0, 6-0. Peyton Jones, the Squires No. 1 singles player, won 6-0, 6-1. Manchester is back in action Wednesday, hosting Peru.

Logansport at Triton

BOURBON – Playing in its first home match of the season, Triton fell to Logansport 5-0 Monday. No. 3 singles player Zak Greer opened up his match with a 4-0 lead, before eventually dropping the set and the match. The Trojans open up Hoosier North Athletic Conference play Thursday against North Judson.

Volleyball

Warsaw at Homestead

FORT WAYNE – Warsaw volleyball battled hard but was on the losing side of a grueling five-set match against Homestead, falling 3-2 (25-20, 22-25, 26-28, 25-22, 15-17). The Tigers are now 3-2 this season.

Ellie Hepler led the team in both aces with four and digs with 13. Leah Henderson was busy defensively, racking up three blocks. Kaylee Weeks led the team in kills with 17 and also added an ace.

Warsaw takes on Penn at home Thursday night.

Rochester at Triton

BOURBON – Triton volleyball won its second match in a row Monday night, defeating Rochester in five sets, 3-2 (25-20, 10-25, 17-25, 25-20, 15-11) The Trojans are now 3-1 this fall.

Addyson Viers was busy both offensively and on defense, leading the team with 17 kills and five blocks. Kiinsey Atkins had 30 digs as well as two aces.

Triton plays its next match Thursday at Argos.

Tippecanoe Valley at Goshen

GOSHEN – Tippecanoe Valley dropped its non-conference matchup with Goshen Monday night, losing 3-0 (25-15, 25-9, 25-19). The Lady Vikings are now 1-3 and play their next match Thursday against Whitko.

Wawasee at Lakeland

LaGRANGE – Wawasee improved to above ,500 after defeating non-conference foe Lakeland on the road Monday night, 3-1 (25-23, 25-18, 17-25, 25-17).  The Warriors are now 2-1 this season, and play their next game Thursday against Bethany Christian.

Manchester at Norwell

OSSIAN – Manchester boys soccer improved its record to 3-1 after defeating Norwell 2-1 Monday evening.

The Squires started off the scoring late in the second half, when Michael Ortiz found the back of the net off of an assist from Nathaniel Miller. After allowing a goal in the first minute of half number two, the two teams took turns being stopped by goalkeepers.

 With just over a minute left in the game, Tyler McLain scored the winning goal off of an assist from Roberto Laione, one of two exchange students playing for Manchester this season. The Squires take on Three Rivers Conference foe Wabash Thursday.  

Girls Soccer

NorthWood at Tippecanoe Valley

AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley is still searching for its first victory of the season after falling 8-0 to NorthWood Monday. The Lady Vikings are 0-2 this season. Jetta Hughes had eleven saves in goal. The team takes on Wawasee Wednesday.
