By Staff Report-
How do you serve the people of the community with needed clothing and other items, over $2,000 worth of school supplies, lunches, haircuts, entertainment for their kids and gas and grocery cards?
Well, you offer everything for free. This is exactly what happened on Aug. 6 at LifeTouch Ministries and Counseling Center, 2510 E. Center St., Warsaw, according to a news release from LifeTouch Ministries..
Grants were obtained, local churches supported financially and volunteers helped with the prep and work during and after the sale. There were donations of clothing and items from people all over Warsaw and elsewhere of time, money and goods.
LifeTouch Ministries holds the “ungarage” sale to help people return to joy, stated the release. That is the tagline of LifeTouch Ministries and Counseling Center.
“In knowing that God’s grace and forgiveness is free, we are motivated to share that message, even subliminally, with others,” one employee of the ministry is quoted as saying in the news release.
Over 97% of the 2,000-plus items were gone at the end of the day. Nearly 50 gas and grocery cards were given away through a drawing, and 250 people were fed a free meal while they shopped.
LifeTouch Ministries and Counseling Center would like to thank every single person and business who helped make this day a success, stated the release.
