Jovencio Veneracion, 70, longtime resident of Winona Lake, died Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at New Dawn Memory Care Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.

He was born in San Miguel, Bulacan, Philippines, on Aug. 31, 1951, the son of the late Juan Veneracion and Filipina Santos. Jovencio relocated to the United States in 1981, coming to the Warsaw area. He had retired as a machine operator for Chore-Time Brock in Milford in 2018 after 26 years with the company. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and an avid sports fan, especially Notre Dame football. He enjoyed his family and friends, singing karaoke or an occasional visit to try his luck at the area casinos.

He is survived by his son, Christopher (Alexea) Veneracion, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; his daughter, Jovelyn Wood, of New York, N.Y.; grandson, Domenick Veneracion, in Colorado Springs; sisters: Mila Roose, of Plymouth; Cristina Ventura, of Sterling Heights, Mich.; Erlinda (Eloy) Villanueva, of San Miguel, Bulacan, Philippines; Celia (Allyn) Bajas, of Warsaw; brother, Reynaldo (Susan) Veneracion, of Warsaw; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, with Father Jonathan Norton officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date in Santa Rita Memorial Cemetery, San Miguel, Bulacan, Philippines.
