NORTH WEBSTER – Inframark Utilities Manager Jayne Alger was recognized during the North Webster Town Council meeting Tuesday.

Alger is retiring from Inframark.

At the beginning of the meeting, Clerk-Treasurer Betsy Luce recognized Alger as it is the last Council meeting Alger will attend. Luce said it was a pleasure working with her and was sorry to see her go, but was happy for her. Luce said Alger will be missed.

Mike Noe, who will take over Alger’s position once she retires and held the position before Alger, said there will be a retirement celebration from 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 26 at the utilities plant. Alger said officially her last day is Sept. 1.

Alger said she has been in the position for nine years and decided to retire in January. She plans to travel to “some place warm, no snow.”

In other business, the Council:

• Learned the street department is still working on cleaning up after the last storm.

• Learned Noe is working on getting quotes for a 5-horsepower pump for the Epworth Forest lift station as a backup.

Noe said he is hoping to have the quotes by the next Council meeting.

• Signed and updated  the American Disabilities Act Transition Plan.

Rick Pharis, Triad Associates Inc., said when the town filed for a Community Crossings grant this year, they learned the plan needed to be updated.
