Baseball

Warsaw at Concord

ELKHART – Warsaw dropped a very tight conference matchup with Concord Friday, losing 2-1. The Tigers are now 5-5, 3-2 in the Northern Lakes Conference.

Khareus Miller drove in the lone run for Warsaw in the second inning with an RBI double. Josh Shapiro started the game for the Tigers, going four innings, striking out five while giving up two runs on two hits.

Warsaw is back in action Monday against Mishawaka.

Goshen at Wawasee

SYRACUSE – Wawasee dropped a conference matchup with Goshen Thursday night, losing 8-7.

Grant Brooks had three hits and a run batted in to pace the Wawasee offense. Ty Brooks struck out three while giving up just one earned run in three innings of work.

The Warriors will try to get into the conference win column when they travel to Concord Monday.

Triton at Knox

KNOX – Triton dropped a conference matchup with Knox Thursday, losing 2-1 and dropping their record in the Hoosier North Athletic Conference to 0-5. The Trojans are still winless on the season at 0-10.

Dominic Smith drove in Triton’s lone run on a base hit in the first inning, He drove in Jacob Pitney, who led the Trojans with two hits. Zak Greer went six innings, striking out three, giving up two unearned runs.

Triton takes on Culver Community Monday. The two teams will play a back-to-back.



Softball

Wawasee at Goshen

GOSHEN – Wawasee dropped to below .500 in conference play with a 4-0 loss to Goshen Friday night. The Warriors are now 5-8 this season, 2-3 in the NLC.

Haylee Allen struck out six on the mound for Wawasee. Arisai Garcia led the Warriors offense by getting on base three times, twice via the walk and a base hit.

Wawasee hosts East Noble Saturday morning.

Tippecanoe Valley at Caston

FULTON – Tippecanoe Valley came up short in a nonconference matchup with Caston Thursday, losing 13-3 in five innings. The Lady Vikings are now 10-4 this season.

Molly Moriarty hit a triple and scored a run. Corinna Stiles and Abby Bowers both had a base hit and drove in a run.

Valley hosts a tournament Saturday morning.

Western at Manchester

NORTH MANCHESTER – Manchester dropped its nonconference matchup with Western Thursday, falling 18-5 in five innings. The Lady Squires are now 1-9.

Madison Parson drove in two runs with a home run. Emma Evans led the team with two hits.

Manchester has a conference game with Wabash Monday night.     

Bremen at Triton

BOURBON – Triton struggled to get Bremen hitters out in the team’s game Thursday, giving up 26 runs in a 26-7 loss. The Trojans are now 2-9 this season.

Triton has another nonconference game this weekend, taking on NorthWood Saturday morning.



Boys Golf

Manchester at Wawasee

SYRACUSE – Wawasee narrowly defeated Manchester at Maxwelton golf course Thursday, winning 165-170. Wawasee is now 2-1 this spring.

Leading the way for Wawasee were Jay Fininson and Myles Everingham, who shot a 38 and 39. Manchester’s Owen Kruschwitz, who had a 37, scored the best score in the competition.



Girls Tennis

Wawasee at Warsaw

WARSAW – Warsaw capped off a 4-0 week with a sound 5-0 victory over the visiting Wawasee Warriors. The Tigers are now above .500 for the first time this spring at 4-3, with a conference record of 3-1.

Warsaw’s Addie Lind took a tough 6-4, 6-2 victory over Wawasee’s Kiah Farrington. The Tigers won every match in straight sets, including Marie Frazzetta and Megan Mishler’s 6-0, 6-0 doubles win.

Manchester at Fort Wayne Carroll

FORT WAYNE – Manchester suffered a narrow loss to Carroll Thursday, falling 2-3 on the road.

The Lady Squires won both of their doubles matches. The duo of Delani Henderson and Kimberly Schroll picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win.

Tippecanoe Valley at Maconaquah

BUNKER HILL – Tippecanoe Valley dropped its conference matchup with Maconaquah Thursday, falling 2-3.

Lydia Miller and Talia Holder both won their singles matches in three sets, with Holder coming back to win the final two sets of her match after dropping the first.

Baseball

Warsaw at Concord
