By Staff Report-

WINONA LAKE – Grace College & Theological Seminary is hosting the Charis Fellowship’s 2022 Access Conference from July 14 to 17.

The national conference serves as a celebration of how God is working through the fellowship’s ministries worldwide and is open to all friends of Grace College including alumni, students, faculty and staff. Conference tickets and day passes can be purchased at www.access2022.us, according to a news release from Grace College.

“We are thrilled to bring the conference back to Winona Lake this year as we consider the essential value of biblical relationships,” said Dr. John Teevan, interim president at Grace. “Grace College is a backdrop where many gospel-centric relationships are formed in the Fellowship, and countless of those relationships continue to link arms for the sake of the making disciples today.”

The Charis Fellowship, formerly known as the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches, is a family of approximately 250 interdependent churches and ministries in the United States and Canada that share a commitment to biblical truth, relationship and mission. Grace College & Theological Seminary is one of the many ministries established through the encouragement and support of the Charis Fellowship churches.

The Access Conference will begin with a kick-off event on July 14, to be organized by Momentum Ministry Partners. The following three days of the conference will include various workshops, celebrations and sponsored meals hosted by fellowship ministries including, Assist Church Expansion, Inspire Pastors Network and Charis Women, Grace College & Theological Seminary, Encompass World Partners, Eagle Commission, Momentum Ministry Partners and Grace Brethren Investment Foundation.

The conference will culminate on Sunday afternoon with a lakeside picnic at Winona Lake Limitless Park. Various water activities and outdoor games will be available, including rides on the Grace boat.

“This conference is a key opportunity to celebrate what God is doing, form relational connections and learn about various ministry ideas and resources,” said Phil Sparling, executive director of the Charis Fellowship. “Come be encouraged and equipped to improve your relationships — with Jesus, other ministry leaders, the lost and those closest to you. I guarantee an improvement in your relationships will lead to an improvement in your ministry.”

Driving Lessons
Editor, Times-Union: I was reading the Times-Union last Friday and to my surprise there was a paid-for response to a letter I wrote over a week ago. Apparently, our “Letters” colleague from Winona is back critiquing other people’s letters.

For His Birthday
Editor, Times-Union: Donald Trump wants a “big, beautiful” military parade with an estimated cost of around $92 million of taxpayers’ money — the guy who was a Vietnam War draft dodger —the guy who claims our soldiers are suckers and losers — the guy who is cutting VA benefits, services and employees — the guy who aspires to be a king or even a pope rather than just a president — the guy who is a convicted felon, an adjudicated sexual assaulter, and a twice-impeached president. Yeah, that guy. He wants a full-blown military parade to honor himself on his birthday (and maybe the 250th birthday of the U.S. Army and Flag Day a little bit).

Poet Biorefining Plan
Editor, Times-Union: I'm writing in regards to the plans that Poet Biorefining and Vault 44.01 have, to build a carbon capture facility, just south of North Manchester.

Apologies To Officer
Editor, Times-Union: So I am writing this letter to Officer D. Brewton of the Warsaw Police Department and all law enforcement personnel of Kosciusko County.

Chip Shots: A Twisted Twist On A Take
It’s no surprise to me one of the least competently managed NFL franchises drafted Shedeur Sanders. The Cleveland Browns – not the REAL Cleveland Browns in MY heart and mind – made the Colorado Buffaloes quarterback the 144th pick in the 2025 NFL draft two Saturdays ago.
