She was born on Aug. 12, 1934, in Long Island, N.Y., to parents, Margaret Wells Klatt and Raymond Wells. Elaine was extremely resilient growing up, as she became severely ill as a child and faced death. She survived and became a medical secretary for several psychologists where she learned about the intricacies of human behavior.
When Elaine retired, she spent her days reading, knitting, sewing and trying other various hobbies. She was an avid reader and loved learning about history and other people. She also was an accomplished bridge player. Although she did not survive to write her life’s novel, she shared her knowledge with those around her and was the smartest person most people knew.
Elaine had two sons, Bruce Moore and Gary Moore, who survive her. She was also a loving grandmother of six and would frequently boast her pride in her grandchildren: Mallory, Cameron, Cynthia, Alex, Jacob and Jered Moore. Elaine was very loved by her family, friends and others who knew her. She will be remembered for her catch phrase “Love you forever!”
Graveside funeral services will be held at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, on Friday, April 22 at 1 p.m. and will be open to all who wish to celebrate Elaine’s life and memory.
McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, is entrusted with arrangements for the family.
