Josey James Bickel, 30, of Pierceton, passed away at 10:29 a.m. on Sunday, April 3, 2022, in Pierceton. His soul was released from his physical being so very unexpectedly.

He was born on May 6, 1991, in Warsaw, to Jerry E. and Jamie E. Pearson Bickel.

He was a lifetime area resident, graduated in 2009 from Warsaw Community High School and attended Trine University in Angola. He was employed at Innovative Skilled Trades as a welder.

He loved his football years from peewee through college. He was artistic, enjoyed dirt bike riding, races with his dad and grandpa, Minnesota Vikings, gaming and his truck.

He is survived by parents, Jerry and Jamie Bickel, of Pierceton; sister, Jenelle (Jordan Young) Bickel, of Indianapolis; brother, Jason Dugger, of Winona Lake; three nephews; paternal grandmother, Bonnie Bickel, of Akron; maternal stepgrandmother, Debbie Pearson, of Sand Springs, Okla.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Sandy (Dobbins) Pearson, Jim Pearson and Jerry Bickel; uncle, Chad Coffelt; and cousin, John Morris III.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 7 at Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind. 13 and CR 500N, North Webster. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. Ind. 15, Warsaw. A private Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.  

Preferred memorials may be given to the Thirteen Step House, Inc., 1317 W. Washington Blvd., Fort Wayne, IN 46802.

Thanks to some outstanding defense as well as two special teams scores, the Tigers were able to head into sectional play with a three-game winning streak under their belts with a 42-13 win.
