David Michael Shaffer, 53, of Syracuse, passed away at 1:01 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23, 2021, at his residence.  

He was born on Nov. 6, 1967, in Orange County, Calif., to Jim R. and Maxine L. Brumley Shaffer.

He formerly attended Warsaw Community High School and worked in the RV industry. He resided in the Syracuse/Wawasee area most of his life.

He is survived by three children: Rachel Shaffer, Ryan Shaffer and Julie Shaffer; parents: Jim and Maxine Shaffer, of Akron; sister, Christina Bailey, Chesterton; uncle, Steve Shaffer, of Fort Wayne.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

A visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 2 at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. Ind. 15, Warsaw.
