Warsaw, Local Individual Compete In Golf Regional

Olivia Robinson-Gay had the best score for the Tigers, shooting an 87. Rounding out the Warsaw scores were Marie Frazzetta with a 92, Abbey Peterson with a 94, Abigail Davis with a 106 and Delaney Byron with a 103. The Tigers finished in ninth place out of 18 teams on the day.
In the individual competition, Madelyn Weaver of Tippecanoe Valley finished with an 87, six strokes away from advancing. Winning the individual competition was Cybil Stillson of NorthWood, who shot a 62. Her score broke a two-year-old state record for lowest score in Indiana girls golf postseason tournament.
Homestead was the regional champion, with a team score of 295. Madison Dabagia and Simone Sink paced Homestead with a 69 and a 71, respectively, good for second and third overall.
Stillson and her NorthWood teammates were second at 320, and Penn advanced with a 336.
Individuals advancing without a team were Lillie Cone of DeKalb and Selah Unwin of Mishawaka Marian, each at 74; Marissa Gerue of Carroll at 77, and Northern Lakes Conference competitiors Anna Hutchings of Plymouth and Karisa Dyer of Northridge at 80 and 81, respectively.
The state championship tournament is Friday and Saturday at Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel.
