Bridge At SPEC Played Thursday

NORTH WEBSTER – Bridge was played at SPEC at the North Webster Community Center.

On Thursday, Mary Prescott came in first and Dick Sutton came in second.

Winners for Thursday Bridge Club at Marie’s Family Restaurant were Sharon Holtz, Betty Walston and Linda Baird.



The ABC Bridge Club Plays At Red Apple

The ABC Bridge Club met at The Red Apple Restaurant with Ann Thallemer as hostess.

Winners were Mimi Geringer and Thallemer.



Women’s Auxiliary Holding Fruit, Nut Sale

Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary is taking orders for its annual fruit and nut sale. Order forms are available from any auxiliary member, the Salvation Army office at 501 E. Arthur St., Warsaw, calling 574-267-5361 or to download an order form, go to www.sawarsaw.org. Payment is due at the time of the order. Last day to order is Friday.



Winona Literary Club Meets

WINONA LAKE – The Winona Literary Club met Wednesday at Robin Hood Community Center for their 118th year. They meet September through April, every two weeks at 1:30 p.m. They conclude their year with a spring luncheon a noon.

There were 22 members present and three guests.

The featured speaker was Letricia Nichols, director of Black Pine Animal Sanctuary in Albion. She shared on the theme, “Conservation Tales - Refuge for the rest of their lives.” Their website is www.bpsanctuary.org. The sanctuary has over 80 animals and 60 different species. It is a nonprofit Professional Animal Retirement Center (PARC).

The luncheon and refreshments were hosted and provided by Phyllis Borkholder and Carol Franklin.

The next meeting will be Oct. 6 at 1:30 p.m. at Robin Hood Community Center with a book review and accordionist.
