Triton Schools Food Service Experiences Supply Chain Issues

By Staff Report-

BOURBON – Triton School Corporation Food Service teams are excited to have students back in school and serving healthy school meals to fuel students for a success day.

It is important for families to know that school meal programs nationwide are experiencing many of the same supply chain issues that have impacted restaurants and grocery stores close to home, according to Triton Schools Corporation’s Facebook page.

Schools will have to make some last-minute changes to the school corporation’s regular menus based on product availability. The school corporation will have to limit each student to one lunch tray every day. If your student is used to buying an extra lunch or extra main entrée, they may need to pack a sandwich or lunch item to supplement their meal.

Triton Schools asks for patience and grace as it sorts through these supply issues, knowing in advance the corporation may not have the same number of menu choices typically offered to students. Menu substitutions will be common based on availability of food. Food Service may run out of a certain selection but the goal remains the same, for students to have healthy meal options to help them be their best throughout the day, stated the Facebook post.

Triton Schools wants parents to know it is not a budgeting issue or about Food Service Teams mismanaging resources or being disorganized.

Triton Schools remains committed to ensuring students continue to have access to healthy meals each school day, are nourished and ready to learn. It hopes these challenges are short-term and the corporation can get back to providing a full menu soon.
