Wawasee School Board Candidates Interview Forum Set For Sept. 28

SYRACUSE – Wawasee Community School Corporation’s school board candidates interview forum has been scheduled for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 28 in the Wawasee Middle School lecture room.

There are five candidates.

Board member Mary Lou Dixon is retiring from the board Oct. 31. She has served for 19 years and is a Turkey Creek Township resident.

According to a news release from WCSC, “The Wawasee Community Educators Association, in conjunction with the Wawasee Community School Corporation Board of School Trustees, will host an interview forum of all five applicants that applied for the board seat vacancy. The event is open to the public and will allow the School Board and public an opportunity to hear the candidates speak on important issues pertaining to the role of a board member.”

Candidates will be asked questions with a two-minute time limit.

After the interview forum, the board will convene in an executive session to discuss the candidates further.

The successful candidate will be announced at the Oct. 14 regular session board meeting.
