Born July 25, 1942, in Chicago, he was a son of the late Dennis and Rosemary Militello Raimo. Growing up in Chicago, he graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1960.
Living the majority of his adult life in the Chicagoland area, he worked for Oscar Meyer and then Burns Security. He last lived in Aurora, Ill., moving to Silver Lake in 2008.
Fashion conscious, he enjoyed shopping for and wearing the latest men’s clothing styles. He like to travel with his favorite destination being Disneyland in Florida. His other destinations included Gatlinburg, Tenn.; Topsail, N.C.; and a biennial family reunion in Kentucky where he delighted in the Chinese buffet.
He was a diehard Chicago Bears fan, making time to watch every game. He collected Swarovski crystal figurines.
Surviving are two sons: Dennis Raimo III and Mark Raimo, both of Illinois; his companion of 10 years, Connie D. Trout, of Silver Lake; her children, Kendra C. (Matt) Payton, of Fort Wayne; and Joshua Trout, of Kentucky; Connie’s grandchildren: Liza (Doug) Payton, Mikaela Payton and Jaeden Payton; and a great-grandchild, Ember Payton.
The funeral service is 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24 at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Visitation in 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24 until the service at the funeral home.
