The Tiger boys had all seven of its runners, who finished within 61 seconds of one anther, earn spots on the all-regionals team. Junior Garrett Hall was third at 17:13, with senior Harrison Phipps a step behind in fourth at 17:14.
Senior Luke Nier was fifth in 17:25, sophomore Tyler Swartz took eighth in 17:50 and Ryun Hoffert was 13th in 18:07 . Sophomore Andrew Potter was 19th in 18:15 and freshman Alex Schrock completed the muddy course in 18:18, good for 20th place.
The Tigers’ 27 points was well ahead of host Culver Academies 84 points. Plymouth and Rochester were third and fourth, respectively, with 104 and 117 points. Northwestern was fifth at 141 points and Manchester took sixth with 151 points.
The Squires advanced two boys to the semistate; Raven King was 11th n 17:53 and Cade Jones was 26th in 18:34.
Jacob Hestling finished 41st for Manchester in 19:04; Caden Marcum was 63rd (20:08); Caleb Smith was 72nd overall (20:53).
The top 10 individuals from non-advancing teams and the first five qualifying teams from each regional advanced to semistate.
Tippecanoe Valley qualified three individuals from last week’s sectional race. Isaac Whetstone was 64th (20:08), Evan Myers was 76th (21:03) and Brady Rodgers was 78th (21:17).
Triton’s Travis Barnhart was 79th (21:18) and Jaydon Heckaman was 87th (22:44).
Lady Tigers Dominate
Warsaw’s 46 points easily outdistanced runnerup Rochester with 90 points. Culver Academies was third with 111 points, Maconaquah took fourth with 118 points, and Western edged Manchester by two points, 136-138, for the last team qualifying spot in Saturday’s New Prairie Semistate race.
The victory gave Warsaw its 10th regional crown, including each of the last nine seasons.
Northwestern’s Hannah Moore became a rare commodity; she beat Warsaw’s Joey Rastrelli for first place. Moore covered the distance in 19:41, 20 seconds quicker than Rastrelli.
The Lady Tigers grouped for spots 8-10 with Wini Barnett (20:43), Elizabeth Vander Bie (20:50) and Mikayla Mimnaugh (20:52). Regan Brouwer was 20th for Warsaw (21:18) to round out the scoring.
Isabelle Herman (40th in 22:47) and Macelyn Marcuccilli (50th in 23:24) completed the Lady Tiger team.
Manchester was paced by Kadence Fox, who finished 15th in 21:06 and qualified for the semistate race Saturday. Others running for the Lady Squires were Ayla Cashdollar (22nd, 21:31), Josie Briner (30th, 21:59), Kambree Cashdollar (43rd, 22:50), Miriam Struble-Hedstrom (58th, 24:01), and Paulette Martin (60th, 24:14).
