Conley Announces He Will Seek A 5th Term

Southern District Commissioner Bob Conley announced Sunday he will seek re-election in the May Republican primary.

He is completing his fourth four-year term as a commissioner.

In his letter announcing his candidacy, Conley said he was born and raised in Kosciusko County on a farm near Pierceton. His parents later bought a farm south of Warsaw.

“Growing up, I helped on the family farm of more than 1,200 acres where I learned how to get up early and get things done.  This work ethic has helped as I serve as your county commissioner,” he stated.

He attended Pierceton and Claypool schools and graduated from Warsaw Community High School. He attended National Barber College in Indianapolis.

He serves on the Kosciusko County Sherriff Reserve, having served multiple positions from patrolman to the rank of captain. He serves as president of the county board of finance, and is a member of the Kosciusko County Solid Waste District, County Area Plan Commission, technical review board and is the 2021 president of Board of County Commissioners. He has served as president, as well as on the board of educations and board of elders, within Redeemer Lutheran Church.

He married Sue Evans Conley, a retired preschool teacher from Presby Preschool.  They have three children. Nathan Conley works at Lake City Bank, and his wife Leslie Custer Conley is a stay-at-home mom. Amanda Conley Esterline is an adjunct professor with Grace College and a mom. Her husband, Adam Esterline, works in the wealth management department at Lake City Bank. Nelson Conley is a barber with Bob at their South Buffalo Street location.  His wife, Kaila Grimm Conley, works at Community Animal Hospital. Bob and Sue enjoy spending time with their children and five grandchildren.
