Warsaw’s American Association Of University Women Met In September

October 1, 2021 at 11:09 p.m.

By Staff Report-

The Warsaw chapter of the American Association of University Women met at Palette for their September meeting.

President Lynn Groff called the meeting to order and introduced the hostesses and the guest.

During the business meeting, the treasurer’s report and the 2021-22 budget were approved. Groff went over the officers and committees for the 2021-22 year. She thanked everyone for their willingness to serve.

Among other activities, AAUW will have its annual garage sale in the spring — so members were reminded to start saving things for the sale.

The speaker for the day was Justin Taylor, financial wellness coordinator from Lake City Bank.  The members were given a self-assessment on their virtual knowledge and for securing their bank accounts. The members had lots of questions.  Do you know what social engineering, phishing  or skimming are? The members who were present learned about all these things and more.

The next meeting will be Oct. 16 at the Palette at 9:30 a.m. It will be the silent auction, which is one of two fundraisers. The funds are used to give scholarships to non-traditional students.

If you are interested in attending a meeting or joining AAUW, call Groff at 260-344-1367 or plan to attend the next meeting.
