Lady Trojans Roll Away From Wawasee In 4th Quarter For Win

Addyson Viers came up big for the Lady Trojans, hitting 12 shots from the floor and three free throws to lead all scorers with 27 points. Viers also pulled down seven rebounds, trailing only Taren Yates and Jocelynn Faulkner, who pulled down none rebounds each. Kinsey Adkind hit a pair of three-pointers onher way to a 10-point outing.
For Wawasee, Emily Haines had a team-high 12 points and added five rebounds. Lindsay Doss had eight points and four boards, and Kennedy White had a team-high seven rebounds for the host Lady Warriors.
In junior varsity action, Mackinzie Hackleman had 18 points and Abbi Burleson added nine points and eight rebounds for Wawasee in its 42-13 win.
With the victory, Triton leveled its record at 3-3 and will finish a trio of road games against Northern Lakes Conference schools Tuesday when it travels to Nappanee to face NorthWood.
Wawasee fell to 4-3 and is off until Nov. 30 when it will play a non-conference game at West Noble Nov. 30.
Lady ‘Cats Roll
PONETO – Braisha Harrison scored a team-high 17 points and Adryanna Phillips added 13 points for Whitko in its 53-35 non-conference girls basketball win at Southern Wells Saturday night.
Gwen Howard added eight rebounds in the winning cause for the visiting Lady Wildcats.
The win improved Whitko’s record to 2-4. The Lady Wildcats won’t play again until Nov. 30 when they travel to Fort Wayne Canterbury for another non-conference matchup.
Lady Squires Fall
WINAMAC – Keilan Creager and Ainsley West led Manchester with 11 points each in the Lady Squires’ 53-38 loss at Winamac in non-conference girls basketball Saturday night.
Brookleynn Buzzard added seven points for Manchester (0-8), while Gracie Lauer paced the Lady Squires with seven rebounds.
In the junior varsity game, Maddy MIller had 14 points to lead Manchester to a 31-25 victory. Stacia Kring and McKelvey Espeset had eight and seven rebounds, respectively, in the winning effort.
Manchester returns to action Saturday, hosting Oak Hill in a non-conference game.
