The newly elected members are Cheryl Hastings, Dr. Anita Kishan and Dan Stichter. Marlene Mulero-Betances has retired from the board after serving the Community Foundation for 10 years, according to a news release from the Foundation.
Hastings is recently retired from her career as a regulatory affairs professional within the medical device industry. She now works part-time at the prosecutor’s office as a case manager for teen court, a restorative justice program for juvenile offenders. She and her husband, Bob, moved to Warsaw in 1991. The couple have four adult children.
Hastings is a donor to the Community Foundation and was one of the founders of the Friends Across Borders Fund, which supports low-income and non-English speaking immigrants as they go through the U.S. citizenship naturalization process. She also volunteers for La Casa de Amistad, helping the immigrant population through this process.
“I am excited about the opportunity to serve. It is so important that we continue to increase awareness of and accessibility to the Community Foundation’s services,” Hastings said.
Kishan is a retired pediatrician who began serving the Warsaw community in 1988. Kishan also serves on the board for K21 Health Foundation and Heartline Pregnancy Center. She is passionate about supporting disadvantaged people in our community, particularly children, according to the release. Kishan has previously been involved with the Community Foundation as a volunteer and donor.
Kishan and her husband live in Warsaw and have two adult children and three grandchildren. Since retiring, she enjoys traveling more and spending time with her grandchildren.
“The Community Foundation does so much good in our community,” Kishan said. “I look forward to helping in any way I can, and I am interested in developing even more opportunities to help children.”
Stichter hails from Etna Green and works in Warsaw at Nextremity Solutions Inc. where he is chief financial officer. Stichter is the board’s industry appointee per the Community Foundation’s bylaws. He also serves on the board of directors for KEDCo and KCDC.
Stichter is very involved in the community, and he has supported the Community Foundation both as a volunteer and a donor, the release states. He now lives in Bourbon with his wife and two young children.
“I really enjoy board service,” Stichter said. “I’m particularly interested in helping with governance and preserving the future of the organization. I hope to be involved in the Foundation’s continued growth and success.”
