Warsaw Students To Join Dallas Brass At Concert Nov. 12

The concert will be at 7 p.m. Nov. 12 and is titled “American Musical Journey,” which includes a celebration of the nation’s heritage through song.
Tickets can be purchased in advance through the Warsaw PAC Box office at 574-371-5040. Prices for students are $5 and $10 for adults; tickets at the door are $10 for students and $15 for adults. Masks are required in the auditorium.
The WCS students will participate in workshops and clinics with director Michael Levine on the day of the concert. The middle school band will play “Star Wars,” arranged by John Williams, and the WCHS band students will play “American Tableau,” arranged by John Wasson.

Founded in Dallas, Texas, in 1983 by Levine, the Dallas Brass has become one of America’s foremost musical ensembles, the news release states. The group has established a unique blend of traditional brass instruments with a full complement of drums and percussion, which creates a performing entity of extraordinary range and musical challenges.
The Dallas Brass has performed at Carnegie Hall, the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and has toured overseas. They have shared the stage with the late Bob Hope, performed for Presidents Gerald Ford and George H.W. Bush, appeared on the CBS “Early Show” and their music has been used numerous times on “The Young & The Restless.”
