Dr. Al Grossnickle is using his years of business experience to help companies.

The retired Grace College business and entrepreneurship professor and former president and CEO of Caremet Inc. launched Strategic Venture Partners in May. It provides business consulting.

The Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce had a ribbon-cutting for the Warsaw-area business on Wednesday.

"I'm using (my) skills to help any business owners who have questions, need help in all types of areas," he said. "It could be in market analysis, it could be entrepreneurship. Many times it could just be listening and be a mentor and walk them through and help them with what they're doing."

"Right now, business is very complex and there's a lot going on," he said. "Supply chain issues are huge right now. In this community you'd be surprised ... all kinds of problems that companies are having, they can't get their product because of the chips for example or they can't make the product because they can't get the raw materials and those kind of things.

"A lot of it is doing a lot of listening and trying to provide feedback ... and anything to help give them a competitive advantage," he explained of what his role with Strategic Venture Partners is. "A lot of times business owners have difficulty understanding seeing the forest for the trees sometimes because they're so close to it and that's good, but they need someone to help them and walk them through and that's where I come in, I believe."

With his years spent in business, Grossnickle also knows plenty of professionals in other fields to assist his clients.

"I have a huge variety of partners available, so that if we get into an area where let's say it's legal or accounting ... and so I'm able to bring in other people to help or human resources or if it gets to be something very complex in IT for example, I have partners I can bring in and to help and this is good because ... you don't want to start getting into an area where you're not as versed," he said.

Strategic Venture Partners' focus is on "small, medium-sized businesses and companies," said Grossnickle, but he doesn't limit his help to specific industries.

He said a lot of his clients are in manufacturing.

He said he sees operating Strategic Venture Partners as continuing to "give back and help people" following his retirement from Grace.

What he wants to provide his clients with is "peace of mind in a complex business world and solutions."

Grossnickle doesn't have a set office location but can be reached by calling 574-532-9112 or emailing [email protected].
