By Amanda Bridgman-
The 104th fair is set for July 11-17, with the following grandstand events: broken horn rodeo Monday; monster trucks Tuesday; harness horse racing Wednesday; draft horse racing Thursday; demolition derby Friday; and the truck and tractor pull Saturday.
A carnival is planned, as well as on-grounds entertainment of tigers, the Aussie experience and an educational petting zoo called American Barnyard. American Barnyard will offer pony rides, feeding of petting zoo animals and include a 30-minute segment of education.
The fair board is seeking sponsors for grandstand events and touted during the monthly fair board meeting that sponsoring the rodeo event allows for the sponsor to get announced multiple times during the rodeo.
As the fair gets closer, Purdue University Extension is set to announce plans for the 4-H animals. Last year, the fair was cancelled and 4-H members were still able to show their animals but virtually from home.
Other upcoming events happening at the fairgrounds include the 7th Annual Rockin’ BBQ event Friday through Sunday.
Friday night is the rib contest, with Saturday and Sunday both being the master series contests.
Fair Manager Jeanette Wood said 45 teams are participating from six states. Unfortunately, the barbecue cooked by the teams cannot be sold to the general public during the competition, Wood said.
The Shrine Club is having a carry-out-only fish fry from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Burket Building at the fairgrounds.
Also Saturday at the fairgrounds, Warsaw Community High School is hosting their junior/senior prom.

The next Fair Board meeting is 7 p.m. June 14 at the Shrine Building at the fairgrounds.
