Four occupants of a home that caught fire prior to 3 a.m. Monday escaped without injuries.

Leesburg Fire Department was called at 2:49 a.m. Monday to 220 EMS T34 Lane, Leesburg, and upon arrival found the back of the home on fire.

Leesburg Fire Chief Jared Haughee said it appears the fire started on the back porch of the home from a grill then spread to the house.

According to county records, the home is owned by Colin P. Nicol. It is a total loss, Haughee said, with estimated damage around $369,000.

All four occupants of the home were able to get out, he said, and no one was hurt.

Leesburg Fire Department was assisted at the scene by North Webster, Syracuse and Milford fire departments, Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory and Lutheran EMS.

It took four hours for crews to clear the scene, and the fire was under control by 4:28 a.m.

The American Red Cross was called to assist the family, Haughee said.
