Woman Winds Up In Jail After Alleged Burglary

A Warsaw woman is facing a burglary charge after she allegedly went into a home and took items while the man who lived there was in jail.

Lee Ann Lowrance, 37, of 519 W. Winona Ave., Apt. F, Warsaw, was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail at 10:01 a.m. Saturday and charged with burglary, a Level 4 felony; and theft, a Class A misdemeanor.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed March 16 in Kosciusko Superior Court I, on Dec. 16 Warsaw police took a report from a man who said he spent two days in jail and when he returned home several items were missing from his residence.

The man told police a gaming system, tools and other household goods valued at more than $750 were missing and that he had a camera in his home that recorded Lowrance and two other men enter the home and take the items.

According to court papers, police spoke with the two men in the recording who said they thought Lowrance was just taking what belonged to her.

However, the homeowner told police she did live there for a week prior to his arrest, but said she should not have had a key and must have entered through the window. The man further told police there was no reason for her to be in his bedroom, because the only property she had at the home was clothing.

Lowrance’s bond was set at $15,250.
