A Milford man is facing charges after police located stolen motorcycles in a stolen trailer on his property.

Michael Allen Schuh Jr., 38, of 205 S. West St., Milford, was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail at 11:26 p.m. Thursday and is facing three Level 6 felony theft charges and a Class B misdemeanor false informing charge.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed Dec. 3 in Kosciusko Superior Court III, on July 22 Milford police were dispatched to the area of 205-207 S. West St., Milford, in reference to a black Suzuki motorcycle behind a residence that had been reported stolen.

When police arrived, they noticed a trailer with the tailgate down and three motorcycles inside. One motorcycle was reported stolen out of Elkhart County, and the second was reported stolen out of Allen County, according to court papers. The third motorcycle was not listed as stolen, but the trailer that was housing the motorcycles was reported stolen from Leesburg.

Police then went to speak with Schuh – the homeowner of the property where the trailer and cycles were located.

According to court papers, Schuh told police he hadn’t any idea where the trailer and motorcycles came from, as he only noticed it when he got home from work.

Police spoke with a woman who lives in the home and she told police, according to court papers, that she had gone to bed the night before and when she woke up there was a trailer full of motorcycles on the property.

However, police obtained video surveillance footage from a nearby bank that allegedly shows Schuh loading the motorcycles into the trailer less than an hour before police arrived.

Schuh’s bond was set at $15,250.
