A Lagro man facing theft charges in two other counties is now facing fraud charges here after allegedly using a man’s debit card without permission.

James Brandon Pinkerton, 35, Lagro, was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail at noon Thursday and is facing two charges for fraud, Level 6 felonies; forgery, a Level 6 felony; attempted fraud, a Level 6 felony; and theft, a Class A misdemeanor.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed March 5, 2019, in Kosciusko Superior Court II, on Jan. 30, 2019, Warsaw police spoke with a man who said his debit card had been used on four separate occasions on Jan. 28, 2019, totaling an amount of $900.56.

According to court papers, Pinkerton allegedly used the debit card at Cigarettes Plus and spent $387.43, CVS and spent $282.10, Gamestop and spent $165.83 and Walmart and spent $65.20.

Police obtained video footage from the area businesses and identified Pinkerton as the man using the card and signing the credit card slips, according to court papers.

According to court records, Pinkerton has a pending criminal case for burglary and theft in Wabash County Circuit Court and a pending criminal case for auto theft in Howard County Circuit Court.

His bond was set at $5,250.
