LARWILL – Thursday night, the Whitko National Honor Society welcomed their newest inductees.

The services opened with a greeting by NHS President Augusta Garr. Vice President Vivian Gaerte gave a history of NHS. The secretary for Whitko NHS spoke about the society's emblem, followed by Molly Maish and Ashly Tapia, both NHS advisors, who spoke on the student accomplishments.

Next a candle-lighting ceremony highlighted the four pillars of the National Honor Society: scholarship, service, leadership and character. Students then were led in the induction pledge by Garr. Junior members were inducted by Maish and Tapia, followed by the senior member induction. Senior members took a few moments to recognize teachers and staff who had left an impact on their educational career. Principal Jake Everett then closed the ceremony and thanked families for attending.

• Senior NHS inductees: Abigail Arter, Misha Brandenburg, Vivian Gaerte, Augusta Garr, Kayce Sims, Erin Starkweather and Brent Studebaker.

• NHS Junior inductees: Hailey Arnold, Reese Bradford, Claire Brandenburg, Ryan Brown, Willow Deneve, Morgan Dyck, Grace Ehrman, Zoe Foutz, Kylie Fugett, Guinevere Garr, Jackson Hollenbaugh, Laura Jackson, Shoshana Keim, Danielle Kelly, Mackenzie Kreider, Danielle Schuman, and Jaycie Thomas.

• NHS honorary candidates: Anna Arter, Chloe Bollinger, Brookelynn Coburn, Nevaha Difilippo, Abigail Frank, Jayda Gregory, Chloe Hathaway, Jordyn Leininger, Nadia Rhoades, Anastasia Schmitt, Blake Schroeder, Brooke Schroeder, Jillian Starkweather, Alyson Tucker and Braiden Wolfe.
