Cainan James Wilson, 27, of 5762 N. Second St., Warsaw, was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail at 11:35 p.m. Feb. 7 and faces charges for domestic battery with a child under 16 present, a Level 6 felony; domestic battery causing moderate bodily injury, a Level 6 felony; domestic battery, Class A misdemeanor; resisting law enforcement, a Class A misdemeanor; and disorderly conduct, a Class B misdemeanor.
According to the probable cause affidavit filed March 12 in Kosciusko Superior Court I, on Feb. 7 a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a report of domestic violence and spoke with a woman who said a fight between Wilson and his girlfriend had just occurred.
According to court papers, police spoke with the victim and she said Wilson had been drinking vodka when an argument started about a cell phone. The woman told police Wilson became angry, punched her in the face several times that caused her to fall to the floor, then grabbed her by her hair and slammed her face onto the hardwood floor, causing a bleeding injury to her face.
The woman who spoke to police when they arrived further told police that Wilson “was out of control on drugs since October,” according to the affidavit.
According to court papers, two children were in the home at the time of the incident.
When police spoke with Wilson at Kosciusko Community Hospital, he was allegedly angry, screaming, throwing things and refused to follow instructions, calm down or be quiet. Wilson had to be place in restraints to be medically cleared before he was taken to KCJ.
His bond was set at $5,250.
