Warsaw Winds earned the honor to compete at next week's IPA Winds State Finals at Center Grove High School by increasing their score by 6.1 points from the last performance and narrowing the gap to first place by one point.

They were awarded top placement for best visuals at Pendleton Heights High School Invitational and third place overall, this group's feverish performance was hard to miss. Utilizing 92 different visuals and dance moves all while playing their instruments to illustrate the changes in music, this nearly six-minute performance is made up of nearly 50 different set moves that ebb and flow with the music's flames and tunes. These visual moves happen simultaneously, transforming the tarp from flames to cool water. The group has been trained by professional dance instructors to elevate their movements, according to a news release from Warsaw Community Schools.

The Warsaw Winter Winds group will perform at 6:53 p.m. in block 9. Visitors are permitted in the stadium and will follow COVID-19 safety regulations. For those unable to attend in person, the state competition event will be livestreamed from Center Grove High School on https://secure.payk12.com/school/Center-Grove-Band-Boosters/651/item/194979 for a fee. The awards will be live-streamed via FaceBook on the Indiana Percussion's page at 9:30 p.m.

Kyle Travis, assistant band director, invites the community to join WCS for a performance at the WCHS Tiger's Den on March 31 at 7 p.m. COVID-19 safety precautions will be in effect and masks will be required. This performance will showcase all Warsaw Bands at the high school. Follow their progress on Instagram @WarsawBands, and on Facebook @Warsaw Community High School Bands.
