Whitko Schools Announces Students Of The Month

SOUTH WHITLEY – Whitko Community School Corporation announced its students of the month for March. They are:

Dyana Podesta – Whitko Jr./Sr. School – senior high nominee

Podesta has a great attitude and always puts forth great effort. She interacts well with her peers and teachers, according to a news release from Whitko.

Podesta was nominated by teacher John Carroll.

Hannah Long – Whitko Jr./Sr. School – junior high nominee

Long is a wonderful student; has great work ethic; is quietly active in school activities, and still maintains a high level of academic achievement. She is always willing to help those around her, stated the release. Long was nominated by teacher Mike Hanback.

Jenica Johnson – Whitko Career Academy

Johnson is a great student. She comes to class eager to learn and soaks in everything that she can about teaching. She is enthusiastic about all of the opportunities that she is receiving from her experience in her host classroom. Johnson will make an excellent teacher someday, stated the release. Johnson was nominated by teacher Angie Irwin.

Laynie Walpole – South Whitley Elementary School

Walpole is a smart and funny girl who naturally uses her positive attitude and joy of life when interacting with classmates and teachers. Walpole comes to school each day with a smile on her face and a skip in her step to brighten the day of everyone around her. Thank you to Walpole for being that bright spot in our day, stated the release. Walpole was nominated by teacher Angie Tranter.

Cheyenne Baugher – Pierceton Elementary School

Baugher comes to school every day with a big smile on her face. She's a great friend and always willing to help out when someone is in need. She works hard, puts forth her best effort and has improved academically. She makes the right choice even when others around her do not. Her positive attitude is a pleasure to have in class, stated the release. Baugher was nominated by teacher Courtney Dennis.
