KREMC Breaks Records With Annual Meeting

At the meeting, members participated in the election of the KREMC Board of Directors. Terry Bouse, Steve Miner and Rick Parker were re-elected, and they will each serve another three-year term. KREMC is thankful for all the candidates who ran this year and for the part they played in making this event a success, according to a news release from KREMC.
A steadily moving line of vehicles entered KREMC’s facilities off South CR 250E in Warsaw, proceeded up the drive to the back of the building, drove through the truck bays and back out the driveway. KREMC had six bays open for cars, with three stops in each bay. Attending members received a $10 bill credit, voted for directors, received a gift and a dinner-to-go or a dinner voucher, all from the comfort of their vehicles.
In lieu of their sit-down business meeting, KREMC shared a video containing cooperative updates, financial information and the story of their new high-speed internet company, Kosciusko Connect. The video was released on social media, sent to members through emails, and the audio was played on the radio during the drive-through event.
After the meeting, KREMC drew names to select the 20 winners of their 2021-22 scholarships: The John H. Anglin Memorial Scholarship, which rewards winning students with $1,000 toward their upcoming year of further education; and the 4-H scholarship, which offers $350 to fund the projects of local 4-H participants.
The 10 winners of the John H. Anglin Memorial Scholarship are Isaiah VanPuffelen, Katherine Ousley, Connor Lucas, Jacob Kissling, Niles Hodges, Joselyn Helton, Joshua Fisher, Abigail Doberstein, Madeline Bowell and Justin Beer.
The 10 winners of the 4-H Scholarship are Gentry Bouse, Nash Bouse, Rian Colbert, Carter Imhoff, Hunter Imhoff, Ella Jarrett, Lilly Jarrett, Jacob Reiff, Jonathan Reiff and Justin Westerberg.
“We just made history. Our team made a major change to the way we run our annual meeting for the first time in over 80 years, and it was a momentous success,” said KREMC President and CEO Kurt Carver. “I am thankful to our members; I appreciate their willingness to come out and engage with us, and I am so grateful for the long hours and hard work put in by the KREMC team to make this event possible.”
