North Manchester Historical Society, Shepherd’s Center Sponsor Trip

NORTH MANCHESTER – North Manchester Historical Society and Shepherd’s Center are sponsoring a trip to Eastern Ohio Sept. 9 - 11.    

The tour will be visiting six small communities that have a unique business or attraction, according to a press release.  

The first stop will be the Smucker’s Store that showcases their many products.  The next stop will be at Lehman’s General Store. The tour will then travel to Wilmot where it will spend two nights at The Amish Door Inn and have a family-style dinner at the Amish Door Village Restaurant.

On Sept. 9, they will visit the Warther Museum in Dover, Ohio. This museum features many wood carvings, Indian arrowheads and other assorted collections.  It then travels to Zoar, Ohio, for lunch and tour of this community with a population of 169. In the evening, the group will travel to Millersburg for a buffet dinner, followed with a variety show.

Saturday, the group will head back to Indiana after stopping in Bucyrus, Ohio, to visit the Crossroads Factory Store to see the varied items they offer. The main part of their business is scented candles. Across the street, the group will visit The Pickwick Place.  This will be a showcase of fresh produce at the farmers market and The Stalls, which features local vendors offering their handmake crafts.  

Eight spots remain on this trip. The deadline has been extended to Aug. 14 to book a seat.

The trip includes two-nights lodging, two breakfasts, one lunch, two dinners  and all tips and taxes. Cost is $400 per person double occupancy, and $525 for single occupancy.
