Compassion Or Captive

The good thing about getting old is that I know the truth. I discovered the honor and patriotism of our forefathers long before the radicals have tried to remove the history from our books. I know about those rich white men who put their wealth, privacy and lives on the line to forge a new government independent of the king and British rule, a government of the people, by the people and for the people. A republic founded on the principles that “all men are created equal.” This proclamation posed a big problem when the entire world was dealing in the trading of slave labor.
The founders recognized the hypocrisy of their endeavor as some of them owned slaves, they freed their slaves and at the time of the ratification of our Constitution, not one signer of the Declaration of Independence owned a slave.
Let’s talk about President Lydon Johnson’s bold move to capture the black vote. When confronted by the public pressure and civil rights movement by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., President Johnson had no choice but to push a Civil Rights Bill that had been earlier voted down by the Democrats. In fact, this bill wouldn’t have passed without a majority vote by the Republicans.
Unfortunately, this legislation with its tricks and gimmicks has served to not only cost the American public, bot black and white, over $6 trillion since its conception, it’s so-called “War on Poverty,” has held the black community captive ever since. It has spelled the demise of the “Nuclear Family” in the black community and born an explosion of fatherless children. Children left to the streets only to join a family ... the gang. Sometimes being paid to go along, ain’t too good.
The devious social science manifestations by the Democrats have held poor people in their urban prison. Chase the fathers out of the home so the mothers are gifted with government programs to give them a substance, some meager way to provide for their children. At the same time, they create a financial floor pushing a $15 minimum wage. Creating a qualification barrier for the children being cheated by this public education system.
I may not be “WOKE,” but I do know the truth.
