Susan “Sue” Marie Haan, of Claypool, passed away surrounded by her loving family at 5:12 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021, at her residence at the age of 74.

She was born on Sept. 7, 1946, in Iron Mountain, Mich., to Margaret Thorneburg Darland and John Darland.  At the young age of 23, she married the love of her life, William “Bill” Henry Haan, on April 4, 1970. This year they would have celebrated 51 years of marriage together. They raised three children, celebrated the joy of becoming grandparents and created so many memories during their time together.

Sue was a 1964 graduate of Green Bay East High School in Green Bay, Wis. She moved and lived in Salem, Ill., for about nine years before moving to Warsaw in 1992. In 1993, she started working for Dalton Foundry in Warsaw in the administration department until her retirement in 2008. Sue absolutely loved the outdoors, especially her flower garden.  Sunshine, the endless colors and scents of any and all flowers brought a smile to her face. She also enjoyed meeting her friends at the Kosciusko Community YMCA in Warsaw where she routinely exercised. Sue will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Bill Haan, Claypool; son, Ben (Melinda) Haan, Warsaw; daughter,  Amy (Perry) Waggoner, North Manchester; and her three favorite grandchildren: Maddux, Coby and Lily. Also surviving is her brother, William (Gail) Darland, Green Bay, Wis.; and three sisters: Nancy Becker, Minneapolis, Minn.; Sharon Parker, Albion; Mary (Tom) Balkcom, Maryville, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her daughter, Lizabeth, in 2008.

No services are planned at this time and arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
