A Warsaw man is facing battery charges in two cases after allegedly putting his hands on the same woman after a no-contact order was in place.

Sandon Isaiah Allen, 31, of 1818 Sue Ave., Warsaw, was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail at 10:04 a.m. Wednesday and faces charges for strangulation, a Level 6 felony; domestic battery with a child under 16 present, a Level 6 felony; domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor; invasion of privacy, a Class A misdemeanor; and theft, a Class A misdemeanor.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed Jan. 18 in Kosciusko Superior Court II, on Dec. 7 Warsaw police responded to a home in reference to a domestic battery call that came from a neighbor.

Upon arrival, they spoke with the victim, a woman who told police Allen came to her home, began yelling at her, demanded money and her phone and then took off with her phone.

Police asked the woman if Allen had been physical with her, but the woman told police she didn’t want to get Allen in trouble, according to the affidavit. However, police observed a red mark on her neck as if she had been choked, and children were present in the home.

Police also became aware that Allen was ordered by the courts to stay away from the woman.

When police spoke with Allen, according the affidavit, he denied stealing her phone but said he did make contact with her.

His bond in that case was set at $5,250.

The no-contact order was put in place after police were called to a home on Aug. 2 and discovered Allen had battered the woman over a dispute about a car.

Police had located Allen walking down the road while they were responding, according to the affidavit.

He denied hitting the woman, but the woman and witnesses told police he was hitting the woman, kicked her in the face, shut a car door on her leg and then pushed her to the ground and got on top of her, according to the affidavit.

Children also were present during this fight, according to court papers. In this case, Allen is facing charges of domestic battery with a child under 16 present, a Level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor.
