SYRACUSE – Brent D. Gordon, 68, of Syracuse, passed away at 5:20 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 8, 2021, at his home.

He was born on June 29, 1952, in Goshen, to Eugene and Doris Wagner Gordon.

He was a lifetime Syracuse area resident, attending Syracuse High School and was a United States Army veteran. He was married on June 29, 2002, in Milford, to Jody L. Waltz Miller, who survives.

He formerly worked as a bartender at the VFW, Lance’s New Market and Shopko, all in Syracuse, and retired after working at Rinker Boats in Syracuse for 20-plus years. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and American Legion Post 223, both in Syracuse, and was a former member of the VFW in Syracuse.

He is survived by his wife, Jody Gordon, of Syracuse; daughter, Reenia Gordon, of Warsaw; son, Jeremy (Bobbi Jo) Gordon, of Tennessee; stepdaughter, D’Anna (Travis) Buell, of Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brother, Mike (Pam) Gordon, of Greensburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Theresa Kitson.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13 and one hour prior to the services on Thursday at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will be at noon on Thursday, Jan. 14 in the funeral home, with Pastor Matt Landry officiating. Burial will follow in the South Whitley Cemetery, with military graveside rites.

Current guidelines regarding public gatherings because of the COVID-19 virus will be implemented regarding face masks and social distancing.
