Warsaw Board of Works members Mayor Joe Thallemer, George Clemens and Jeff Grose Wednesday approved adjustments to December wastewater bills with line leaks cited as the cause for the adjustments.

Those included Pamco Management, an adjustment of $1,801.57; Garver, $261; Johnston, $52.20; and Miller, $1,206.40.

The board approved a contribution of $11,900 to Cardinal Services to provide personal protective equipment.

The agreement was originally to supplement the Kosciusko Area Bus Service program, which was approved by the city council last month. However, all transportation funding is being paid with federal funds for 2021.

Also approved was a contract with Anderson Property Management for the maintenance of plant and flower beds and urns in Central Park for $1,888.88 per month for nine months for a total of $16,999.92.

The company has gardened in the parks since 2013, said Parks Superintendent Larry Plummer. He added the cost is the same as the last two years. The company also provides all the plants.

The board approved  Troyer Group’s pay application for $3,350 for preliminary engineering of the Lincoln Neighborhood Sidewalk Project, as recommended by city planner Justin Taylor.

Taylor said bids will be advertised late 2021 or early 2022. He said there are several rights-of-way to be secured to install the sidewalks.

Thallemer said this is a federally funded project and requires a number of environmental and engineering reviews.

The city continues to have a 50-50 program for residents, with the city paying for half the sidewalk cost and residents paying for the other half.

A three-year agreement between the Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory and Parkview Health Systems was approved, as recommended by Fire Chief Mike Wilson.

The agreement allows territory students in the advanced EMT class to acquire skills in the Parkview Warsaw emergency room as a clinical educational experience.

Wilson said the territory has the same agreement  with Kosciusko Community Hospital. The contract with Parkview gives the students the opportunity to observe and learn in both facilities.

The board approved claims of $2,582,390.12, along with pension payments of $35,828.15; and pre-paid claims of $46,092.35.

The next Board of Works meeting is at 11:15 a.m. Jan. 15.
