AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley School Board will honor three retiring teachers during their meeting Monday.

Superintendent Blaine Conley said there will be a reception at 5:30 p.m. at Tippecanoe Valley Middle School before the 6 p.m. meeting.

The three teachers to be honored are Linda Studebaker, math teacher at Tippecanoe Valley Middle School; Jane Hunn, science teacher, TVMS; and Marcie Pearson, social studies teacher, TVMS.

Their families were invited to the meeting, where the three sixth-grade teachers will be honored, Conley said.

There’s well over 100 years of experience between the three teachers, he said, noting the school corporation appreciates everything the teachers have done for it over the years.

“They’re irreplaceable, if you just look at their experience,” he said.

Conley said he didn’t know if the three teachers are coming back to the school corporation to help out, but said he doesn’t think so from what he’s heard.

During Monday’s meeting, the school board also will be asked to approve the architect and construction manager for the 2023 building project.

Conley is going to have more information at Monday’s meeting. He’s going to announce the meeting days that the community will be able to see what the vision is for the project.

“Baker Tilly will also be part of that conversation,” including how the school corporation is going to finance this project, Conley said.
