What an informative article about the time that our area farmer, former Ambassador Kip Tom, served our country well, particularly in many countries in Africa.

While his base was in Rome, he seems to have spent most of his time doing the work of trying to get food the to the many millions of needy/starving people there. When the new president, Joe Biden, was inaugurated on Jan. 20, 2021, he told about all political appointees were called by Biden to be on USA soil by that date. He went on to say that the second in-charge, a “career person,” would step into his role and run things until there is a new appointee which could be six months to a year.

Let is trust that the position will continue to be well run for the benefit of so many people.
