NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

CITY OF NAPPANEE PLAN COMMISSION

    The City of Nappanee Plan Commission will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Nappanee City Municipal Center, 300 W. Lincoln Street, Nappanee, Indiana.

    The purpose of the Hearing is to conduct a Public Hearing on Petition #01-22-PLN filed by Weldon Miller of Jamie Corporation.  The petitioner is requesting to change the zoning of real estate from R-1 Low Density Residential to I-1 Industrial. The property is located on US 6 West in Nappanee, Indiana.

    LEGAL DESCRIPTION OF PROPERTY:

    A part of the Northwest Quarter of Section 35, Township 35 North, Range 4 East, more particularly described as follows:

    Beginning at the Northwest corner of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 35, Township and Range aforesaid, and running thence East along the North line of said Section 35, a distance of 973.5 feet; thence South parallel with West line of said Quarter Section to the North line of the B & 0 Railroad right of way; thence Westwardly along the North line of said railroad right of way to the West line of said Northwest Quarter of said Section 35; thence North along the West line of said Section 35 to the point of beginning. Containing 51 Acres more or less.

    EXCEPTING THERE FROM: A part of the Northwest Quarter of Section 35, Township 35 North, Range 4 East, Locke Township, Elkhart County, Indiana, and more particularly described as follows:

    Beginning at a stone marking the Northwest corner of said Northwest Quarter; thence South O degrees 12 minutes 49 seconds East 1715.80 feet along the West line of said Northwest Quarter to a rebar; thence South 84 degrees 23 minutes 8 seconds East, 985.95 feet to a rebar; thence North 0 degrees 12 minutes 49 seconds West 1816.30 feet to a rebar on the North line of said Northwest Quarter; thence South 89 degrees 45 minutes 49 seconds West 980.85 feet along the last described line, to the point of beginning.

    A copy of such proposal is on file in the office of the City Planner of the City of Nappanee, Indiana, City Municipal Building, 300 W. Lincoln St., Nappanee, Indiana. Written objections that are filed with the office of the City Planner of the City of Nappanee before the hearing will be considered.

    All concerned citizens will be offered the right to speak and voice their comment at the Public Hearing. The Public Hearing may be continued from time to time as may be found necessary.
