By Staff Report-
Qualified applicants in Warsaw’s C-4 Business District may obtain matching grant funds for façades, storefronts, awnings and signs, depending on the scope of the work. The purpose of the façade grant program is to stimulate efforts to improve the street appearance of downtown Warsaw’s commercial and business façades, according to a news release from WCDC.
Forte Residential Inc. recently received one of WCDC’s 2021 façade grants. They made improvements to the outside of their building, located at 120 S. Lake St., Warsaw. Improvements include removing the tattered carpet to reveal the existing granite stone steps and entryway, as well as polishing the brass front entry door.
WCDC Executive Director Rob Parker said, “Investing in businesses and buildings in downtown Warsaw is the mission of WCDC. Being able to help beautify and enhance the downtown is something that we take great pride in. To see the passion that Elle Moeller has for her building and her business, Forte Residential, and encouraging additional investment in our historic buildings is beneficial for the owner, business and the community. This is another example of a win – win relationship.”
The façade grant program offers up to $5,000 in matching funds per applicant per grant cycle, which may be under one or more grant applications. All grants awarded require matching dollar for dollar expenditures by the owner or tenant. Visit WCDC’s website for more information: https://www.warsawcdc.org/about/grants-loans/facade-grant/.
