Harriet Ruth Brown, 81, of Winona Lake, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 26, 2021, at her home.

Born on March 5, 1940, in Marshall County, Harriet was the daughter of Claude and Ula Mae Holderead Davis. She was united in marriage to Harold Russell Brown on Feb. 4, 1956, who was the love of her life with whom she shared a wonderful life of happiness.

Harriet retired from Owen’s Grocery Store with 45 years of service.

Harriet will be lovingly remembered by children: Sarita (Rex) Burnett, of McKinney, Texas; Russell (Jackie) Brown, of Pierceton; Alicia “Lisa” Eckert, of Mentone; and Christine Brown, of Winona Lake; eight grandchildren: Brandt Cox, Brook Moore, Kirk Burnett, Kyle Burnett, Rick J.R. Watters, Erik Watters, Nicholas Boardman and Keegan Brown. In addition, she is survived by 10 great-grandchildren: Darren, Alivia and Donovan Cox, Zander Moore, Quinn, Claire and Emily Burnett, Bree Watters, Camden Boardman and Ava Brown; two great-great grandchildren: Liam and Roronoa Cox; and one sister, Bonnie Barrett, of Tippecanoe.

She was preceded in passing by her husband, Harold Brown; both parents; two sisters: Sarah French and Valeria Kintzel; three brothers: Chuck, Claude “Red” and Donnie Davis.

A visitation is planned from 2 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 29 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. No further public services are planned.

Masks are optional, and social distancing is encouraged. No food is permitted at this time.
