Ivy Tech Selects Eric Allmon As Dean Of School Of Business

“Through teaching and leading at Ivy Tech, I have gained a deep respect for the community college and its purpose,” Allmon said. “I am very excited to continue at Ivy Tech Fort Wayne and Warsaw, serving the needs of students and faculty in the Schools of Business, Logistics and Supply Chain and Public Affairs and Social Services. The landscape of educational needs in the workplace are ever changing, and we here at Ivy Tech will need to grow and evolve with these trends.”
Allmon served as chair of the Paramedic Program at Ivy Tech Fort Wayne for seven years before being promoted to dean. An experienced educator, Allmon has taught adult learners for the past 20 years. He also worked as a paramedic for 28 years.
“I’m excited to begin working with Eric to continue the excellent work that has been done in the Schools of Business, Entrepreneurship and Public Affairs and Social Services over the past several years,” says Heidi Fowler, vice chancellor of academic affairs. “With exciting new initiatives coming down the pipeline, we are ready to offer the students and employers in our area the chance to launch business and create jobs. I have no doubt that Allmon will strengthen our programs, align our offering with local needs, and improve the student experience at Ivy Tech Fort Wayne.”
Allmon has earned a doctor of education (EdD) degree in adult, higher and community education from Ball State University, a master of science in education (MSEd) degree in adult education from Indiana University Bloomington, a graduate certificate in public management from IUPUI, and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Ball State University.
