By Staff Report-
The courses cover a variety of topics – including literature, art, Bible and more. Most classes are eight weeks long, according to a news release from?Grace College.
“We are proponents of the idea that growth and learning can occur at any age,” said Dr. Dennis Gaerte, Silver Scholars coordinator. “The Silver Scholars program is not only a means to enrich the lives of older folks in our community but also the lives of our students.”
An open house will be held in the Registrar’s Office in Indiana Hall on Grace College’s campus Jan. 6 from 2 to 4 p.m. The event will allow students to register for classes, order books and pick up a parking pass. Gaerte will be there to answer questions.
“When our Silver Scholars and traditional undergraduate students learn side by side and share meaningful discourse in the classroom – there’s no telling what may come of those relationships. We see this program as an opportunity to advance our institutional mission of applying biblical values in strengthening character, sharpening competence and preparing for service,” said Dr. Bill Katip, president of Grace College.
