Janet Louise Groves, 85, of Syracuse, formerly of Milford, passed away at 12:05 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 13, 2021, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse.

She was born on Oct. 7, 1936, in Warsaw, to Walter Devon and Thelma Ketring Lippincott.

She was a lifetime Milford area resident and attended Milford High School. She was married on May 11, 1963, in Warsaw, to Ralph Junior Groves, who preceded her on July 24, 1994. She retired from Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw after 20 years and was a member of the Wawasee Community Bible Church in Milford.

She is survived by two daughters: Jeri Lynn (Dennis) Brown, of Milford; and Tracy Ann (Howard Birkel) Watkins, of Syracuse; five grandchildren: Cathryn (Brent) Edwards, Emily (Justin) Green, Amy (Trevor Spencer) Watkins, Sam (Crystal) Watkins and Catherine (Austin) Sommer; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters: Jerri (Frank) Rink, of Syracuse; and Alice Jo (Dave) Ecklebarger, of Leesburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Barbara Bray.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. Ind. 15, Warsaw. No public services will be held. Private graveside services will be in the Milford Cemetery.

Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, is in charge of arrangements.
