• 2:50 p.m. Thursday - Javier Ivan Gonzalez, 40, of 124 N. Jefferson St., Cromwell, arrested for felony probation violation. Bond: $15,250.

• 8:53 p.m. Thursday - Austin James Griffith, 28, of 12303 N. Hillside Lane, Syracuse, arrested for domestic battery in the presence of a child less than 16, felony failure to appear, invasion of privacy and residential entry (burglary/breaking and entering). No bond set.

• 9:52 p.m. Thursday - Crystal Renee Grimm, 40, of 416 N. Roosevelt St., Warsaw, arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a prior and driving while suspended with a prior suspension. No bond set.

• 3:39 a.m. Friday - Joshua Alan Newcomer, 24, of 505 Short St., Nappanee, arrested on a warrant. No bond set.

• 1:07 p.m. Friday - Jadyn Michael Smith-Lantz, 23, of 2276 S. Julian Drive, Warsaw, arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Bond: $700.

• 1:25 p.m. Friday - Courtney Michelle Larkin, 25, of 2057 S. Julian Drive, Warsaw, arrested for possession of a controlled substance. No bond set.

• 2:37 a.m. Thursday - 103 S. Front St., Syracuse. SUV hit parked vehicle registered to Amy L. Sloan, South Front Street, Syracuse. Driver: Robert C. Piasecki, 49, West High Street, Syracuse. Damage: $10,000-$25,000. Syracuse Police Department investigated.

• 10:35 a.m. Thursday - 1158 Lake City Highway, Warsaw. SUV-car collision. Drivers: Gail Ward, 75, EMS T5 Lane, Leesburg; Devin A. Gilbert, 21, Greenhaven Street, Warsaw. Damage: $1,000-$2,500. Warsaw Police Department investigated.

• 8:33 p.m. Thursday - East Ind. 14, 112 feet east of South CR 300E, Silver Lake. SUV hit deer. Driver: Kaylena M. Cody, 28, Columbia City. Damage: $5,000-$10,000. Silver Lake Police Department investigated.

• 10:31 p.m. Thursday - South Ind. 15, 33 feet south of East CR 1300S, Silver Lake. Car hit deer. Driver: James S. Marks, 60, North Bonestead Road, North Manchester. Damage: $1,000-$2,500. SLPD.

• 3:36 p.m. Thursday - A briefcase/bag was reported found in the 600 block of South Buffalo Street, Warsaw. WPD.

• 8:06 p.m. Thursday - A traffic stop was initiated for a person operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a prior and driving while suspended with a prior suspension in the 200 block of Argonne Road, Warsaw. WPD.

Get To Know The Team: Warsaw Captains Q&A
Earlier this week, I had the privilege of going to a Warsaw football practice and speaking with four of the team’s five captains. With so much having been written in recent weeks about their performance on the field, and rightfully so, I wanted to peel back the curtain a bit and ask them some questions about themselves.
