Jaycie Thomas - Whitko’s Senior High nominee
Thomas has an amazing work ethic, is very respectful and always willing to help others. The WJSHS senior was nominated by teacher John Strayer, according to a provided news letter.
Brandon Campbell – Whitko Junior High nominee
Campbell has a great attitude, is very coachable, on time, and shows great effort. The WJSHS seventh-grader was nominated by JD Maurer, stated the release.
Kennedy Slone – Whitko Career Academy nominee
This month we began a community outreach project in our second-year engineering courses. When this opportunity was presented, Slone immediately hit the ground running. She began researching and developing a list of possible community partners. Slone found a problem that exists in many rehabilitation centers and senior living facilities in which she could design an apparatus to help: Poor hand dexterity in these facilities.
Slone has since formed a group of fellow classmates, reached out to a few senior living facilities and 3D printed some prototypes that could be used as assistive rehabilitation devices. Slone, a junior, was nominated by Derrek Sorg.
Ceara Richmond – Pierceton Elementary School nominee
Richmond is an excellent role model for her classmates. She always works hard in school and is kind to others. Ceara is always willing to help others and encourage them to make great choices. The PES fourth-grader was nominated by teachers Jasmine Baum and Lexie Rose.
Colton Bales - South Whitley Elementary School nominee
Bales is a great role model for his classmates in related arts. He is always following directions. He is respectful, responsible and kind to others. Great job, Bales, keep up the great work! Bales, a kindergartener, was nominated by his related arts teachers, stated the release.
