Warsaw volleyball picked up a straight set win over Homestead Monday night. The Tigers won by scores of 25-19, 25-14, 25-13, and improved their record to 3-6.
Sophomore Melaina Hawblitzel, who finished with ten kills, and junior captain Avery Hales, led Warsaw to victory. Hales did it all, finishing the game with 31 assists, five blocks and seven kills. Senior Kylie Smith led the team with 15 digs.
Warsaw plays its next game on the road Thursday at Penn.
Tippecanoe Valley VB Gets Win Over Goshen
AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley volleyball picked up a win over Goshen in straight sets Monday night, winning 25-19, 25-14, 25-19. The win puts the Lady Vikings over .500 for the first time this season, bringing the team’s record to 3-2.
Senior Mallory Durkes was everywhere, piling up team-highs with nine kills, as well as 4.5 blocks. Senior Brayden Baney also filled up the stat sheet, leading the team with six aces and 14 digs.
The team plays its next game Tuesday night, a road contest against Winamac.
Wawasee Volleyball Stays Undefeated With Win
SYRACUSE – Wawasee volleyball moved its record to 3-0 Monday night with a victory over Lakeland. The Warriors won in straight sets, 25-15, 25-13, 25-23 to stay undefeated.
Senior Dylan Konieczny had what head coach Jeff Phillps called “the best match of her career.” Konieczny finished with team-highs with 16 kills and two aces. Junior Amanda Amanda Allen led the team with 24 assists.
Wawasee will look to push its record to 4-0 Tuesday with a match against Central Noble.
Wawasee Boys Soccer Gets Convincing Win Over Riley
SYRACUSE – Wawasee boys soccer picked up its first win of the season in convincing fashion Monday, getting a 7-2 victory over South Bend Riley.
Junior Reuben Camargo led the charge for the Warriors, finishing with four goals and adding an assist as well. Sophomores Xavier Washington and Braxton Mickem as well as freshman Dan Sigur also added a goal and an assist each.
Wawasee will look to move above .500 Thursday, taking on Culver Academies on the road.
Whitko Girls Golf falls to Wabash
NORTH MANCHESTER – Whitko girls golf dropped its contest against Wabash 237-210 Monday. The Lady ‘Cats shot their highest score of the season to date in the loss.
Guinny Garr led the team, shooting a 49. Kloe Krieg, Chloe Hathaway and Jillian Starkweather rounded out the scoring for the Lady ‘Cats. Wabash’s Annie Cole was medalist, shooting a 45.
The team next contest comes Thursday, in a four-way match against Tippecanoe Valley, Manchester and North Miami at Sycamore Golf Course.
Whitko Boys Tennis Drops Match To Columbia City
COLUMBIA CITY – Whitko boys tennis lost to Columbia City Monday night 5-0. Although the Wildcats went winless, David Ousley put in a good performance in his singles match, losing 6-3, 6-4, coming the closest to getting a win.
Whitko plays its next match Wednesday at Fort Wayne Wayne.
